High emotions and high score at Maarjamäe
News added: 06/14/2011 09:33Grande Punto and Doker met in an emotional game, where regardless of the final 5:0 score, that saw Doker take the win from this game, both teams had plenty of good opportunities to score, that they did not use. The first half of the game started evenly, with both teams having the chances to take the early lead in the game, but Doker used their options more effectively then Grande Punto and on the 9th minute Doker took the lead when Andrei Pavlov scored. On the 22th minute the table already read 2:0 when Igor Brattsuk managed to pull off a beauty shot, when from a 1-1 situation with the goalkeeper, he managed to lob the ball over himself and the goalkeeper while facing the pitch in a way that the goal and the goalkeeper were behind his back. The final score before the half-time stayed 2:0.
Doker started the second half of the game aggresively and that led to many fouls that caused a loud outcry from the members of Grande Punto. By the middle of the second half, the emotions had cooled down and instead of fouls, both teams started creating many good opportunities for further goals. Despite being unable to use many of their chances, Doker did manage to grow the score from 2:0 to 5:0. Even though Grande Punto displayed what was clearly one of their best games if not the best, they were unable to use any of the several opportunities that they had to score goals of their own.
The game ended with a result of 5:0. The most valuable player of Grande Punto was Siim Malva and the most valuable player of Doker was Andrei Pavlov.
