Format

The new Tallinn Grand Liiga format implies championship in two stages.

Selection stage
Strongest teams are determined in the selection stage. Teams are divided into two groups, 7 in each and play one round. Team determination in groups will be done by a seeded draw, that scheduled on May 6th at 19:00 in Sport Café, Punane 45, Tallinn.
According to the results of first stage, teams will compete with equal levels of the strength in the final phase of the championship.

Final phase
7 teams that gained more points in selection stage will join Gold division, the other 7 teams will compete in Silver division.
In each divisions teams play 2 rounds. Winners of the Gold and Silver divisions will be determined by the number of points at all stages of the championship.

If at the conclusion of the tournament teams get same number of points, then the following criteria will be used to break any ties in the order listed:
a) head to head competition (number of points, number of matches won, goal difference, goals scored). Not used if more than two teams are tied, instead proceed straight to next section;
b) goal difference;
c) goals scored;
d) "fair play" (amount of yellow and red cards. One red card = five yellow cards).

Match duration in each stage of the championship is 50 min (2 х 25).

Who can play?

Amateur teams and players who have official status of 3rd and 4th league of the Estonian Football Association (EJL).
Restrictions do not apply to players 35 years and older.
