Tatars won the Winter Nations Challenge Cup

Group stage went without great sensations, not to mention that Russian team could not make to the play off stage. In that group Estonia, Belarus and England qualified for a play off games.

In group B the competition was even harder where Italy was excelled among Turkey and Tatarstan.

Quite an unlucky performance was among Arabs United team, which in its group C has lost both matches. Teams of Ukraine and Germany were leading the group.

Quarterfinal matches went in hard struggle where only strongest could continue. First QF game Tatarstan beat Estonia – 1:0, then Italy defeated the German team 4:0.
In the next QF match between Ukraine and Belarus, again the victory went to Belarus who had to defeat the title 0:1, as in previous Nations tournament “Tallinn World Cup 2009” both teams played in final. The last ticket to the semi-final went to Turkey who beat England 4:0.

Fate again brought Tatars and Italians together, this time in semi-finals, and again the match ended with a draw 0:0. However, in the penalty shoots Tatars were luckier (3:2).
In the second semi-final Belarus easily defeated Turkey 3:0.

The match for the third place was an easy walk for Italians who again won over Turkey with the score 3:0.

In the final Tatarstan managed to defeat former National champion – Belarus – 2:1.

Roman Surmai (Belarus) was awarded as The Best Goalkeeper of the tournament. Eduardo Boskarolo (Italy) deserved The Top Scorer title.
