Format and Regulations

Untitled Document Microsoft EMEA Football Tournament consist of 3 stages:

1. Group Stage
2. Main Playoff - Main Cup
3. Consolation Playoff - Small Cup



1. FORMAT
Group and Playoff stage
- Participating teams divided into two groups by blind draw.
- Teams in each group play each other in one rounds robin (all play all) format.
- Two first team that gain more points during the group stage qualify for Main Cup Playoff.
- Teams that ranked below second place in a group stage participate in Small Cup Playoff.
- A victory awards - 3 points, a draw - 1 point, and a defeat - 0 points.

Determining a team placing in a group table:
а) number of points
b) head to head matches (points collected, games won, goal difference, goals scored). Ratio is not applicable if more than two teams collect equal number of points;
c) goal difference;
d) goals scored;
e) “fair play” ratio (a number of yellow and red cards. One red card equals to five yellow cards).

Match format
- Group stage: 2 x 10 min (full time)
- Play off stage: 2 x 10 min (full time). In case of draw, penalty shoot out, 3 shots, then until the first miss of one of two penalty shooters.

2. RULES
The games of “Microsoft EMEA Football Tournament” competition are carried out according to international FIFA football rules, except for separate articles which will be discussed below:
- games are held at half of a standard football field;
- penalty area size: 9 m from goal line, 6 m from goal post. Penalty spot is 9 m from goal.
- goal size: 2 х 5 m.
- number of players: 7 х 7, minimum players for carrying out the match is 5 players in a team;
- substitutions are carried out with no restrictions;
- match duration - 20 min (2 х 10);
- no offside rule;
- wall distance 6 m;
- Advice on rules can be obtained from main referee of the competition.
- Players must follow “Fair Play” Rule.
Punishment and disqualifications of players for misdemeanor during games.
- For a Red card (or two Yellow cards in one game):
a sending off until the end of the game with no right of substitution and a disqualification for the next game.
- For two Yellow cards in total, received consecutively but in different games, a disqualification for the next game is imposed.
- The record of Yellow and Red cards is conducted separately.
- The organizing committee has the right to extend the term of a disqualification if a misdemeanor is of extreme nature.

3. TEAM EQUIPMENT
- To comply with the hygiene, it is advisable that teams play in their own sports uniform.
- Shin guards are not compulsory, but highly advisable.

4. LEADERSHIP
- Overall direction of “Microsoft EMEA Football Tournament is carried out by the organizing committee.
- The members of organizing committee are Ramil Rjazapov and Roland Meritee.
- Carrying out of competition is vested on Sports Event Management (SEM).
- Results and info about the competition is published on SEM webpage www.sem.ee
